Dear friends, here is the link where to file an unemployment claim in Illinois: https://bit.ly/347y7wR
The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) has enacted emergency rules for unemployment filing that may allow more residents to collect unemployment if they lost their jobs due to the COVID-19. Under these rules, those residents who need to stay home with their children because of school closures may be eligible for unemployment benefits. The individual would still need to meet all other eligibility requirements such as be able and available for work and actively seeking a job. Your eligibility will be defined after filing with the IDES for several days.
Take in mind, online filing access is not available daily from 8 pm to 10 pm. You can also call at 800-244-5631 or 866-488-4016 (TTY)
Also, due to increasing of application filing, the IDES has created schedules for online and over the phone claiming and urges you to stick them: https://bit.ly/33TZSZB
